Mazda what did you do back in 1989? You revlolutionised the sports car market and made all the other manufacturers sit up and take notice.
In 1992 and 1993 they released the SE, a limited edition run of the Mk1 MX5 with a few tasty bits thrown in for good measure.
The basics were already there, the sweet 1.6 fuel injected 116bhp engine, near perfect weight distribution, drop dead gorgeous body and a soft top. Mazda just enhanced this with massive 15 inch alloys sitting on wide, wide 215/45/15 rubber, ABS (very rare) and of course Black paintwork and Tan leather interior. add to this a wood & chrome steering wheel, wood kit, PAS, EW and Electric Aerial they were onto a winner.
Only about 200 of the 92 SE's were made, approx 150 of the 93's which adds to their rareity today.
Ok, the boot's not great, but compared to a MR2 at least you can get a decent sized bag in it for a weekend away!
Fun in the Sun, Fun in the Grey, Fun all year round - my advice - GO AND BUY ONE TODAY
