I bought a Mazda 2 Sport back in March 2010 mostly for convenience after my wife recently gave birth and so we needed a 4 door car with decent storage space. To that end the car has been excellent in that our (fairly large) pram fits comfortably in the boot, whilst we also have plenty of space for our son's car seat, plus the Mazda comes with Isofix fittings for the base of the car seat, which is a standard requirement for all new cars.

In terms of performance, I am generally happy, although I have had minor problems with the responsiveness of the brakes and more so with the steering block, which recently became a little noisy and clunky when performing certain manoeuvers.

To Mazda's credit, they have been excellent with us and have carried out minor repairs extremely quickly. Not only have they given us a courtesy car but they have also delivered it to us and driven away our own vehicle for servicing. Any inconvenience has therefore been minimal.

Would I buy a Mazda 2 Sport again? Probably not. But it certainly does a job for us as a family car with plenty of space and relatively low fuel consumption. A little disappointing that the car has already been back to the dealership for minor repairs but at least they were dealt with quickly and with little inconvenience.
