Today is a day of great sadness. Today a family friend passed on. A good and faithful friend, a reliable friend. But, when you've got to go, you've got to go! We had been together two years, one month, twenty days, not a long time you might say but long enough for us to get to know each other's foibles. Long enough for me to be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that our time together had been a time of great enjoyment although not entirely free of problems. The Mercedes-Benz C180 Classic 4 door Saloon is a fine car. Mine had come to me for the first year of our relationship as a company car. On a three year lease, I had it as a ... The C180 is not a tiring car to drive, which is exactly what you’d expect from the great Mercedes-Benz. There is also that characteristic feeling of a hidden strength that will take care of you no matter how bad the traffic, how awful the weather or how black your mood. Small Mercedes have never been as fast as rivals like BMW. But Mercedes-man tends not to care as he ambles along, isolated from the world and its troubles. Even flat out, the engine keeps its cool. The fit and finish is just superb. Whenever you press a button or turn a knob, you get the impression that, no matter how many times you turn it or press it, it will never, ever, fall ... This is a very sleek looking car for it's age. Has a very nice engine noise (more of a purr, very distinct). THe most annyoing thing about this car (although it wouldn't bother too many people), is that a full size hard 'cello case doesn't fit inside the boot, literally by a nanometer. As you sit into the driver's seat, it is as if you were in an airplane! There are so many back-lit buttons, above and below to control various items in the car. My favourite is the button the lowers the back row headrest! The C180 comes with cruise control (massive gimmick). The standard radio that comes with the car is adequate although you can upgrade ... I drove a C180 for a year and put 25000 miles on it in that time. It was 4 yrs old when I bought it and had 90000 miles on it when I traded it for a 3yr old 25k miles C280. The 180 was quite fun in that you could leave your foot on the floor and not get into trouble but of course the engine is rather thrashy at top revs and it is not the fastest machine. Everything worked on it and because it had an auto box and a/c and other goodies it was worth something in the second hand market. Without those toys you would be struggling. Now I drive a C280 with AMG alloys and inferred from the above is that it can get away from you so the gear changes or ... Read the complete review

When I first saw the Merc C Class for the first time I did not like it. I dont know what it was. I just didnt like it. The only things I liked about it was the engine noise. It is unique from any other car. A humming noise. You can hear it before you see it. It is not a cheap car. It definately grew on my, I now love it. Extremely sexy shape and what a speed. I good buy. I like it, DOO YOO ??? ... Read the complete review
