I purchased a 230 CLK shortly after they were launched and owned it for two years. The car, in silver, with lots of extras certainly looked the ‘business’. However from day one I started getting problems. These were mainly minor – trims loose/ falling off and squeaks and rattles. The car returned to the dealer at least a dozen times during my ownership to rectify these problems, sometimes for several days at a time. Each time the car returned for more remedial work I was offered a courtesy car, but only if I insured it myself!
