I purchased this car two years ago without even seeing it. I bought it over the internet from a Mercedes garage and they delivered it to me. The whole deal was great as they valued my car over the internet and I got the price they offered, sight unseen. I would definitely recommend this as a way to purchase a car.
With regards to the car itself. I had heard a couple of horror stories about the electrics on it but I haven't had any problems at all with the car.
Performance - in my opinion the car handles brilliantly, even in the rain. It is an absolute pleasure to drive.
Comfort - the cabin is very well designed and there is a great CD player which will take 6 CDs. There is plenty of leg room and the onboard computer has numerous useful functions - including providing a warning when bulbs need changed or when the screenwash is getting low.
Mileage - the car is a diesel automatic and predominately is used fro town driving. Even so, I have averaged 35 mpg since I got it.
Servicing - the downfall of the car is the servicing costs which are steep. In the two services I have given the car it had cost around £350 a time just for the service.
I have owned a few saloons in this sort of class but for me the Mercedez E-Class is the best of the lot.
