Advantages: fun to drive, cost efficient, fuel efficeint
Disadvantages: little leg space in the rear, poor boot space
I bought my Mini Cooper S in October last year and thoroughly love the car (even though I've rated it 3/5).
If you're single or in a relationship without kids then the Mini is a great car but if you are ever going to require ANY leg space in the rear or the car or to put more than a few bags of shopping in the boot this car is definitely not for you.
I adore my mini and it ticks all the right boxes for me, it surprisingly has a very good MPG for it's class as a 300 mile drive to my parents house I'll average 43 MPG, it's reliable, it's fun and as common as they are each Mini is also unique to itself as there are so many options available.
In the front of the car you have ample amounts of leg room available, easy to use dials and quite a few little cubby holes for storage.
Unfortunately the biggest problem with this car is all in it's name. If you want to go out with some mates the only way you can do this is either by sitting with your face in the windscreen so you can fit them in the back or make sure that all your friends are at most 3ft tall.
The leg room is none existent which is why I think this car is perfect for anyone who does not need the room in the back.
The boot of the car is also on the small side but this is all to be expected and really in all honest can't be complained about since you're buying a car called a mini.
The handling of the car is smooth and gentle and even more precise if you use the built in sport button which stiffens up the steering to make it more precise, tightens the suspension for better handling and also makes the accellerator more responsive which as expected will make the MPG drop down but if you use this on the odd occassion then it will make no little difference.
If you're buying this car from new then one thing I will definitely recommend is to purchase the TLC pack which costs £250, this cover you for your first 5 years of servicing for free and all parts and labour included, you'll see how this is worth while when if purchased without the first service is £220 and the second is £100, so you've already saved enough for a full tank of petrol.
All in all this is a lovely car if purchased for the right circumstances, it's reliable, fuel efficient and great fun to drive.
Summary: great fun to drive, fast, cheap to run and good looking car
