I am still managing to average approx 30 miles to the gallon even though most of my journeys are a round trips to and from work of about 12 miles. I bought my Space Wagon in Sept 2000 after looking at several other people carriers. Although it is more expensive than others I do feel that the quality is much better and the ability to have different arrangements of seats is very useful. We have so far done one long journey in it, to the French Alps and back. On the one day I was driving almost 9 hrs non-stop and at the end did not feel that tired, I think this says a lot for the comfort of the vehicle. Although it has a 2.4 engine I usually manage 30+ miles to the gallon even when travelling at 80 mph with a ski box on top.
