I bought my Space Wagon in Sept 2000 after looking at several other people carriers. Although it is more expensive than others I do feel that the quality is much better and the ability to have different arrangements of seats is very useful. We have so far done one long journey in it, to the French Alps and back. On the one day I was driving almost 9 hrs non-stop and at the end did not feel that tired, I think this says a lot for the comfort of the vehicle. Although it has a 2.4 engine I usually manage 30+ miles to the gallon even when travelling at 80 mph with a ski box on top. I would certainly recommend you have a test drive I have now had the car for nearly 9 months so I thought I would update my thoughts on it and add a bit more detail. I am still managing to average approx 30 miles to the gallon even though most of my journeys are a round trips to and from work of about 12 miles. As the hot weather has started to approach I have found the air conditioning very useful and I haven't found it has affected the petrol consumption much, which some people had said it would. The fact that it can carry 7 people has proved to be both a blessing and a pain, it is great when you need to carry more than the immediate family but you do tend to find you get called on to do the village cub-run quite often, so beware those of you who are thinking of buying a people wagon. The size is also a bit of a mixed blessing, yes you do get an excellent view of the road but a lot of those small gaps I used to squeeze into and the narrow car park entrances are sometimes quite hard to cope with, however the power steering is excellent. The two seats in the rear, which face forward do come out if you need the extra space however they are heavy and a little bit difficult to fit back in so you wouldn't want to be taking them in and out every day. The Mitsibushi garage where I got it from have been helpful and a
re providing me with a courtesy car for 3 days free of charge when it has to go in for repair, What something gone wrong already? I hear you say, no I just had a slight colliion with a concrete bollard in a car park hence the comments above. The will also deliver the courtesy car to my place of work. I have started to find some slight disadvantages but overall I am still very happy with it and would recommend it to others
