Advantages: Good Performance, Good Looks, Good Reliability

Disadvantages: none found so far

We've just bought the new Almera E 1.5 3 door hatchback with a 16v Twin Cam engine.
I'm not very technical about cars, but having read the Which magazine reports we decided to buy one - even without taking it for a road test!

We were totally impressed with the car. Its sleak new curves and improved exterior features won my wife's admiration - for me the power under the bonnet coupled with the a good range of in-car gadgets and good performance sold it to me.

The car we purchased was imported from Eire*, via a local Car dealership who have given us the best no-pressure sales and after service you could ever dream of - always happy and willing to help in making your choice - leave you alone when you want to discuss your options with your partner, etc. Added to that - the fact that they have sold us a most brilliant car is tops!
(*importing the car meant it was at least £1800 cheaper than buying it direct from a run of the mill Nissan dealer as well)

The Almera we purchased has added features of a passenger airbag - a third head rest in the rear seat, and a proper three point seat belt in the centre of the rear seat.

I have been impressed by its performance so far - very good torque going uphill - very good road handling on windy / bendy roads, and a brilliant advantage of having a variable speed intermittent windscreen wiper setting which can vary from 3 second intervals to 10 second intervals to cope with that awful misty wet damp conditions we all get across the UK!

Well impressed - and would recommend a closer look to any one.

For the benefit of sidneygee and others I bought the car from Direct Cars Ltd, who are based in the Crystal Peaks area of South Sheffield (close to Mosborough / Eckington). They have a very informative website at directcars.co.uk and they don't just sell new cars - they have an extensive range of used cars as well. Most makes and models.
