Let’s face it, women aren’t generally known for their parking abilities or their appreciation of the technical side of the car. I AM that typical woman I’m afraid to say, but I am going to attempt to write this review from both points of view. Apologies in advance to ladies reading this who are technically minded, CAN park and appreciate cars in the way men do, and for any poetic licence I may invoke to get this opinion written. In August 1998 I bought a new Nissan Micra 1.3 GX for £9,300, but due to the fall in new car prices and the fact that air conditioning has been made standard on some models, I could now buy an equivalent car (1.4 ... “Is it really possible to have fun in a Micra?” I know this is what your thinking. Let me tell you about my experience with a couple of Nissan Micras. This may be in not exactly the right place, but this is a long term review of the two micras on my home fleet. My wife has had a micra 1.3 slx auto for about 7 years from new, and my daughter a 1.0 manual, 7 years old, for about one year. We had one of the old Micra Collettes, and wanted to upgrade. Our 1.3 slx has been reliable, a good car to drive, and goes like a rocket. It is a little overequipped, with electric windows, slide and tilt sunroof colour coded mirrors, central locking, but is showing its age, as it has no aircon, no power steering, which it could do with, and no cd player. It is a pleasure to drive, and the standard of care offered ... Read the complete review

And, worse than that, it's a horrible shade of green, and, where are the alloy wheels? It's not very fast either, although it will eventually allow you to break the limit. Mind you, when exactly was the last time I put petrol in it? Well, I guess that's something positive. - More a case of months per gallon than miles. But those seats. I never could quite get comfortable. The seat just seemed a bit too narrow. And there was no air-conditioning. But I could park it on a drain cover, and drive it round a stairwell. The CVT gearvbox was a bit rum too. But did anything ever go wrong? No, I don't ... Read the complete review
