The auto is CVT (constant variable transmission) so no jerking when accelerating. One problem with the CVT is that you do need to use the hand brake, unusual in an auto. I'm not exactly small, 6ft and 17 stone, but I find the micra surprisingly comfortable. We bought the Micra auto four months ago as a second car, with both my wife and I going to different universities it worked out cheaper than public transport. On the occaison I get to drive it, it feels very secure on road holding, loads of power under the bonnet when needed, and the boot space is a bit tardis like - be amazed exactly ho much you can get in it.
