Looks wise, the Primera is nothing major. Don't get me wrong though, the new range looks undeniably more nifty than the previous series, but something is still not quite right. This would all be very important to you if you were that way inclined. What is more important to me, is the driver appeal, and this is where the car excels!
Finally beginning to shake of that mini-cab image, the Primera benefits from independent suspension, giving it a limpet like feel on the road that no other comparatively priced car can match. It feels like a go-kart going round roundabouts, with very responsive steering. I think it could be this factor that gives them the edge in the BTCC racing. Primeras have won nearly every race for the last few years (although perhaps I am being a little biased!).
Engine wise, the car is very reliable with typical Japanese technology underneath. I have read though that rear suspension could be something to look out for later in its life.
Generally though, a great driving car, but don't be surprised to see people flagging you down for a lift on the odd occasion!

Summary:
