      Advantages

      Disadvantages

For £16k hard to knck a proper size 4x4, however really not refined at all

This is our second terrano that we have bought - and as a cheap tow-vehicle that can carry seven people they are hard to beat (we bought ours new for £16k).

However - it isn't a refined easy vehicle to drive so don't expect discovery refinement.

      The good bits:
Seven Seats - not easiest to get into - and the rear set are really only kiddie seats - but still - they are OK - and if you have a drunken gang of mates you suddenly find they fit in! Also without the seats the boot is huge.
It flies along OK - and can show a good turn of speed.
Cheap to buy - ours was from Ron Skinner cars in Tredegar. You can still find new ones around.

      The not so good bits:
Boring - it just has no character. Looks a bit bling with its crome grill (ours is a 54 plate).
Off road - not particularly good - if we are going somewhere where we think we might get stuck - we don't take it.
Vague - the steering doesn't have much feeling to it and it tends to wander and wallow around it pushed along at any pace.
Economy - it's not the best - we get mids 20's and with the trailer this falls below 20 at times.
Noisy - fr some reason this new one was much louder thn the last (which was R reg) and sounds noisier outside too)

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

My dad bought this car a few weeks ago because he was looking for a more practical mode of transport than his Nissan 200sx, because we have a fairly large family he decided to buy big. He wanted a 4x4 with many seats so his choices were between: The Nissan Terrano II, Land Rovers, the Ford Maverick, and a few others. His final decision was the Nissan because it is more attractive than the Land Rovers and its fuel consumption is considerably lower than the Ford, for is specification it is also a lot lower in price compared to its rivals. Other advantages include multiple positioning of the seats, all together it has 7 seats, 2 in the front, 3 in the middle and 2 more at the back, to get into the back seats you need to fld forward the middle seats - which is done with ease. The back 2 seats can be folded forward to give you more space in the rear of the car for baggage or luggage. The back door of it opens out sideways for easy access, the back door has the spare wheel attached. The 4 wheel drive is easily used because there are two gear sticks, and you just decide which one to choose, although it is recommended that you only use the 4x4 when needed because it consumes the fuel at a much faster rate for obvious reasons. It has many advantages which mainly include: looks, price, performance, size and practicality. But it also has one disadvantage - because it is quite high off the ground you cant feel the speed as much so you need to pay more attention to the speed on the dashboard. In conclusion, I think it is a great choice, as a passenger it is very comfortable wherever you are sat, and if you have the money then is it well worth viewing, it has many additional features, so if you need anything it will have it.
