Well, I don't know much about cars nor do I have another car to compare it to but I'll do my best!!! I bought my little 106 a year ago, my first car and can remember feeling extremely proud. Looks A small and simple car, it's not exactly sporty and eye-catching but it's not a bad looking car either. It's pretty much ...  Read the complete review

I brought myself a brand new peugot 106 independance back in 2000. I was so excited it would be my first brand new car and it was all mine. I went to the garage and saw it on the forecourt and thought that was the one I wanted. It came as a 3 door hatch back. 1124cc, 1.1 engine so it was cheap to tax and put petrol in, might not be ...  Read the complete review

We had a 98' Pug 106 in blue. Had it for a few years and the only reason we got rid of it was it had done over 130 thousand miles! You could start to feel the gearbox was giving up, and a few little niggles were appearing. But the car on a whole felt strong for a samll car. I felt comfortable driving on the motorway at 70 mph. It was ...  Read the complete review

Before I start this reveiw I'd just tlike to make it clear that I have recently got rid of my little 106, I've given it to my nephew as he has just passed his test and needs a reliable little run about. I had my 106 given to me by my father in law in December 2005 to use as a daily runabout to get to work and back etc as I'd bought a ...  Read the complete review

Well I don't no what Luke the Dude was driving but I bought a 106 Independence 3 weeks ago as a car for work, my other car being a Subaru WRX and I would say the 106 was quite nippy for it's size. I would agree the pedals take allot of getting used to and the steering is heavy when getting on and off the drive, being a model with no PAS I suppose ...  Read the complete review

Having recently suffered the loss of my beloved Primera, me and my girlfriend went out to get a new car. We quickly came across a 106 Indep. on a 52 plate for £2300. Only seeing the outside of the car I thought it looked alright really. Then came the test drive... What a let down. It moves as quickly as a tortoise on ketamine, the ...  Read the complete review

My 106 is a 1.1 independence. Mine in particular is one of only a few without power steering, which puts most people off, but it means that the steering feels similar to that of a go-kart. It is incredibly responsive, and has a nice weight to it. The 1124cc engine pulls magnificantly, especially in 2nd and 3rd; 1st being 'all-rev-and-no-go'. In ...  Read the complete review

I recently searched out and bought a Peugeot 106 on behalf of my Mum, as a replacement for her ageing Nissan Micra. Not that she isn't capable of buying her own car of course, but I got a particularly good deal buying from a work colleague here in London, so it made sense for me to buy it and then drive it down to her in Plymouth. ...  Read the complete review

My 1996 Ford Fiesta was ok, it drove okay but it had a minor dent and scratches on it's bumpers. It also had a knocking sound from the crank shaft as well as being a tad sluggish. Still it had four wheels and went so I wasn't really bothered. One night I was flicking through a local newspaper and saw an advert from our local Peugueot ...  Read the complete review

This review relates to my experience of a 2001 Peugeot 106 Independence 1.1. I had this car for a week back in the summer of 2001 while my car at the time was being repaired. I covered around 500 miles in it during that time. It seems hard to believe that the little 106 has been around since 1991. Sure, Peugeot freshened the styling and ...  Read the complete review

My mum bought an M-reg 106 about three years ago, and now she has bought an X-reg replacement because she was so happy with the old one. I’ll try and write about the new Independence in comparison to the old Mardi-Gras model. I have driven this new car of ours for a few of months now, and, dispite my initial reactions, I have now ...  Read the complete review

My girlfriend decided to buy one of these last year. I must admit when she told me my response was typically male "I know you're a girl but why do you want to buy a typical girly car like this. I am not a mechanic. I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to the technical side of a car. But when I buy a car, I don't necessarily care about what the engine is and does and I don't think about the suspension - except maybe "Does it have one?" What I do care about is safety, comfort, how ...  Read the complete review

Peugeot concentrate on handling and ride above all else. The suspension set up is superb and Peugeot manufacture their own components rather than out-sourcing. Consequently, their cars tend to be great fun with ample grip. Although the small-engined independence is not a road burner, it feels very much a proper grown up car and you can ...  Read the complete review

I have had my 106 for nearly a year now and it is the best car i have had the options for moddifying it are endless. My car is only a 1.4i but it is a quick if not quicker than the quicksilver and for the money i paid for it i had a brilliant deal. When i bought my car car in Jan 2000 it was 5 years old and only had 9500 genuine miles on it. I ...  Read the complete review
