Advantages: Economical; Cheap Tax/Insurance; Comfortable; Spacious; Great size for parking; Looks just lovely!
Disadvantages: None!
I first purchased a 3-door Peugeot 107 in 2006 and have recently upgraded to the ever so slightly revamped 5-door 107 (2009). I absolutely loved my 3-door and (thankfully) the 5-door is even better.
My one issue with my 3-door was the front seat moving mechanism: when trying to get in/put things in the back the front seat would never stay pushed forward resulting in a constant struggle between person or bags and the front seat. The 5-door version is most definitely worth investing in for this reason.
The 107 is small on the outside, which is great from a parking perspective, yet seriously spacious for a car of its size inside. The boot looks small at first glance but it's deceiving and actually fits a huge amount of shopping in. Tax is ever so cheap (£35 for a year and set to go down further from 2010) and so is car insurance. What's more the 107 is seriously economical. I regularly used to drive my 107 from Kent to North Yorkshire (270 miles) and I could do this journey on one fill up (around £25 for a full tank) and have some to spare at the end. I now regularly drive my new 107 from Kent to South West London and the petrol economy is just as great, costing just over £10 for the 140 mile round trip. I think it's advertised as a city car, and whilst it's brilliant for driving around locally, its performance on motorways/long-distance journeys shouldn't be underestimated. It drives well at 70mph and feels smooth in the car at this speed. The seats in the 5-door seem to be a little more comfortable than in my old 3-door (they have revamped them a little so this is probably responsible) and as previously mentioned I have driven some long journeys in both versions of the car and can verify the comfort.
Additional good things about the Peugeot 107 5-door: great dashboard; nice little CD player with input for an iPod; windows that open at the back seats (not a feature of the 3-door); it's aesthetically pleasing.
Nothing went wrong with my first 107 in the 3 years I had it and I expect nothing will be going wrong with my new 5-door 107 in the next 3 years. My best friend and her Mum also bought this car after falling in love with mine! It's great value for money and I honestly can't recommend the 5-door 107 highly enough.
Summary: A brilliant car whether you're looking for a little run-around or you regularly travel further...
