Advantages: Great driver's car, very fast and nimble.

Disadvantages: Rattles, niggling faults.

Having owned a 205 GTi 1.9 for nearly 4 years, I can say I haven't driven
a more enjoyable car. The handling is spot on, it is great for B-road blasts, the power allows you to blow away most things. Its had an Mi16 engine
for a couple of years now, making it even faster!
The throttle response (either engine) is so quick, and the steering
so direct. No gizmos like power steering (makes parking a bit heavy) or
ABS helps keep the weight down, so the power-to-weight ratio is better
than most modern hot-hatches.
The downsides are rattles, noise and recently some of the original mechanicals are beginning to fail, but it has done over 130k miles.
The electrics are a bit flakey too, nothing serious, and it always starts
first time.
Already looking like being a classic, I'm loathed to get rid of it.
