The Peugeot 206 (1.4)is a nice little car. It looks good, although I can see why people may think its a girlie car. As well as looking good, I have found it to be very fuel efficient and provides a smooth drive in most circumstances. My car came with free insurance for a year. The insurance is in Group 4 so shoulnd't be too expensive once the free year is up. I also got 1 year's tax free and as it is a low emissions car it will only cost £100. You also get your services free for a limited period. I am particularly impressed with the level of safety provided by the twin airbags, which you can switch off if you use a baby carrier. Other ... For the last three months now I have been the proud owner of a 206 LX 1.4 HDi, and I have covered just under 7000 miles on a combination of motorways, country b-roads and town driving with between one and four bodies on board. My car is the new LX specification (which now includes front fog lights, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights), and I have added a rear spoiler. I can only say that this little car performs admirably, regardless of what you ask of it. The 1.4 common-rail turbodiesel engine has 68BHp and 115lb/ft of torque available at 2000rpm, so when you need to pull away from something you can do so easily. On paper, the 1.4 petrol is ... I was very disappointed with the 206, mostly because of the rather awkwardly small pedals which I find are set far too close too each other - is the this a car purely designed for small female leg-ends? Obviously. In fact my feet are only a size 9 but I still felt unsafe due to the lack of space between the pedals. I've driven over 30 cars in the past few years and only the (surprise, surprise) Pug 106 was as bad. Add to that the poor gearbox and unresponsive (1.4) engine and the whole package shouts "City runabout for ladies", which is great if you're female and live in the city. I only score 1 out of 2 for those ... Read the complete review

The 206 can only be described as the marketing slogan says "The drive of your life". The 206 1.9D LX I have been driving for over a year now is a wonderful combinaton os style, luxury and economy. The diesel engine (Peugeot offer the best diesel engine) is simply world class. It runs for ever on the 50 litre tank safley getting in excess of 500 miles out of a tank full. The comfort inside offered by the Air conditioning, quality seat and comfortable driving positon is added to be the decent sound system and although this is only a tape, it gives a good enough sound to get you through the ever increasing traffic jams. If you need a ... Read the complete review

Peugeot really hit the jackpot with its superbly styled 206 range. I own a 1999 LX 1.1 model - although way down in power, its nippy enough and handles like a sports car. For those of you who dont own a 206, and have only seen it from the outside - i assure you that the fantastic styling, smooth contours and modern look are carried on to the interior of the car. Inside, there is suprisingly a lot of space for a small car - the seats are very comfy - with plenty of room in the back for 3 passengers. The specification of the car is quite good too - with airbag, electric windows, remote central locking and remote control stereo system coming as standard. The car ... Read the complete review
