Advantages: good equipment + handling

Disadvantages: slow acceleration in the midrange

The peugeot 306LX automatic.
Due to a cockup at peugeot the car we got delivered had more going for it than we expected, we got a choice of a CD player, air-conditioning or an electric sunroof. We chose the sunroof, but when the car came it had all 3, needless to say we didnt complain.
The new look 306 models are all very similar looking on the outside so if you put a set of alloys on a low spec model, it will look like a top of the range model. We did this and it turned a nice looking car into a very nice looking car.
We got the car very cheap on MOTABILITY. (£450 quid with £250 cash back - for W-reg 306 quite cheap you might agree!!!!!)
The equipment in the car is superb - TWIN AIRBAGS - ABS - AIR CON - 4 X HEADRESTS + RAIN SENSITIVE WIPERS(they switch on when it starts raining - very cool!!!!)
Being an automatic the car is not very economical + plus the auto gear change isnt as smooth as it could be + theres a bit of flat spot in the acceleration between 40+50mph in fourth gear. Another bad point is theres not much headroom in the back for tall passengers, but I dont care coz i'm driving!!
On the positive side the handling and suspension are excellent, the boot is massive + the stereo system is nice with remote controls on the steering column.
It will be quite hard for peugeot to make any big improvements on this model.
