Peugeot 1.6 Diesel
We have just bought a new Peugeot 307, 1.6 diesels and had it now for the past three weeks. After allot of travelling in it I feel now that I have made my mind up on this car and would like to do a review on it:
Peugeot (the company)
The car as we know it today was first made in 1879 and Peugeot started making automotives in 1889 giving the company over 120 years experience in the industry. Peugeot is a French company and consider them self's as a fore runner in the design of there cars.
Customer base:
The 307 is aimed at young families and couples. This is mainly due to the fact that they are small and trendy, yet spacious.
Features:
The 307 features are better than many cars in there league and most come as basic:
The car has air conditioning
It's a manual transmit ion
Trip computer
Front fogs
Alloys
Cruise control
Rear head rests
Travelling
I like this car very much and the journey is a dream. The car runs smooth and is very comfertable to drive. I have also had the opportunity to sit in the back and travel and it feels comfertable to. There is good leg room in the front passenger side due to the shape of the glove box and also in the back. The wind screen is nice and big, maximising view however the pillars do tend to create a blind spot.
The cars interior is black and is very well upholstered with a sleek black mesh woven into the main chairs. There is good boot space, enough to accompany a family shop at lease. I would say however that there is very little view through the rear window when the head rests are there but this is only minor.
The cars display systems are digital, set in orange and are very modern. The dials are white which I feel look classic however I have heard many people say they dislike them. There is also allot of storage in the car for odds and sods such as books which can be easily stowed in the under chair draws.
So travel wise the car is comfertable to travel in and drive.
Fuel Consumption:
I feel that the 1.6 diesel is brilliant on fuel and has cut travel costs by half. This is great in the current climate and saves us allot of money.
Price:
A decent 0-7 or 57 plates can be picked up for around £7500 with minimal miles on the clock. A Great buy.
Summary: a good family car
