Advantages: Choice, Classy car, Practical
Disadvantages: None
The new Peugeot 307 has been one of the most eagerly anticipated new cars of 2001. It has a lot to live up - the 306's enduring appeal was the result of its styling, reliability, low cost of ownership, and desirability. These factors helped it to become Peugeot's all time best seller. Could the 307 match Peugeot's high aspirations? The answer a definite 'Yes'. Choice is the name of the game with the 307. There are a number of 3 and 5 door model variations with a formidable engine line up. The three petrol units are 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 litre - which all have been tried and tested elsewhere in the Peugeot family, and are matched with a choice of 3 common-rail diesel units, giving the 307 one of the broadest diesel line ups available. There are 5 badge levels: Style, LX, Rapier, GLX and the sporty XSi/Dturbo. Due to customers now expecting more interior space and greater versatility in this class, Peugeot have responded to these demands. The 307 is longer, wider and taller, making it one of the biggest cars in its class. It is taller allowing a high seating position that contributes towards outstanding space for 5 passengers while still leaving room for storage in a good sized boot. The extra space achieved has been put to good use with plenty of stowage areas, with accomodation for drinks and cup holders - even the glove box doubles up as a highly practical cooler for drinks in models fitted with air-con. The 307 is brimming with safety features too, with 6 airbags in total, which protect the side of the passengers as well as the front. it has active front seat backrests which minimise the risk of whiplash, a sophisticated braking system, and in the event of a crash, the steering column is designed to retract to minimise chest and feet injuries. This is on top of the usual safety aspects! The car is also highly secure with an immobiliser and remote central locking standard across the range. <
br> Peugeot have delivered a range that addresses the wants and needs of a wide group of individuals from family buyers, to driving enthusiasts.

- 16/07/01 Sidneygee - Topgear Mag on June said it was "Better that Civic" Thats all I've got to say. Also please insure that you find out the facts about a person before convicting them, and thinking that every good opinion about a Peugoet car is just 'puff'.
Peugeot are number 3 in the UK, and also have the number 1 best selling retail car - so is it of any suprise that people like them? We respect your opinions but accusing everybody of working for Peugeot's media machiene just makes this place look like a cat fight.
Please lets keep this place just for opinions and personal experiences of the product in question and not for digging at other users who have taken the time to wright 'unbias' opinions on a subject that they want to talk about. |

- 28/06/01 Seems like another bit of 'puff' for Peugeot. Sounds like the best thing since bread was sliced ... I'm suspicious.... Do you work for the company, Big Balls ?
Personally, I'd like to see how it measures up to the Civic. Peugeots owned by friends have not impressed either me or them. |
