I have a 2003 307 2.0 Hdi and have had nothing but problems. The engine runs like a bag of nails when you raise the revs over 1200, it misfires, doesn't pull and loses power. I've had a computer diagnostic report carried out and it reported no faults. No-one can find out what's wrong with the car and I can't afford to keep throwing new parts at it in the hope of finding a cure.

My wife bought an ex-demo low mileage 53 plate 307 HDi and has had nothing but trouble - one problem after another with engine management. The engine warning light comes on at speed and the turbo cuts out reducing speed. The response from the authorised dealer was just to keep changing parts until the problem went away which it did for a few months. Now it is happening again and the problem cannot be solved even though the whole engine has been taken apart and re-built. Now we find out this is a recurring problem with HDis and that they have been problematic from the outset. Meanwhile we can't afford to replace it and keep shelling out. Peugeot will not admite there is a problem even though they cannot sort it out!!

i recently bought a second hand peugot 2000L hdi diesel last year ,what a mistake, it broke down within a month. alternator packed up without warning.next a pulley wheel completely sheared off from the engine (which is aledgelly a design fault),now it,s loosing coolant water fron system and nobody knows where the water is leaking from.it also bangs underneath car at front when conditions are wet. i will never buy a peugot again unless they recall these cars or compensate for all the inconvienience.i have had several cars but kot one this bad.by mr a marsh

I bought for cash my new Peugeot 307 1.6 Se 7000 miles ago. I like the car apart from one big problem, it is a real bone-shaker! I have returned it to the dealer and other Peugeot garages 3 times to complain but ,apart from one ,they say there is no fault. One garage questioned the rear springs which were colour coded different to their current ... Read the complete review

I've had my 307 since October 2001. It's almost coming up to 70,000 miles and after four years, I've realised this car isn't that good. The car is attractive. Visibility is terrific all round especially with the windscreen making it feel like a bigger car. Interior space is generous. The seats come from the 607 so they are really ... Having recently acquired two teenage stepchildren, I reluctantly had to say goodbye to my much-loved 206 D turbo, which never failed to put a smile on my face driving down a twisty road and had proved both economical and reliable over 36,000 miles. I had been quite impressed with my sister's 307 hatch, a really smooth and comfortable ... Read the complete review

Reading my reviews, you may think I'm a Peugeot fan. My review of the 206 was pretty positive, and now here I am, the owner of a nice 307. Let's get the specs out of the way first - I have a black, Peugeot 307 1.6 SE 5 door manual. 5 disc CD, auto lights, auto windscreen wipers, folding door mirrors, dimming rear view mirror ... I love Peugeots, my partner has had a 205 GTi and now a 405 TD and I love driving both of them plus I learnt to drive in a 309 and have regularly used 406s from work. I currently have a Citroen ZX (a close relative of the 306) and am thinking of changing it. I thought the 307 would be a sensible replacement for it but I was very disappointed. ... After driving my new car for a couple of weeks it is not difficult to see why this model was voted European car of the year. I bought a 3-door 1.6 Rapier in Black, with black interior. The new Peugeot 307 has been one of the most eagerly anticipated new cars of 2001. It has a lot to live up - the 306's enduring appeal was the result of its styling, reliability, low cost of ownership, and desirability. These factors helped it to become Peugeot's all time best seller. Could the 307 match Peugeot's high ... Read the complete review
