Advantages: Stunning looks good performance for low money

Disadvantages: electrics

I have owned my 406 coupe v6 for about three years, it has now clocked up 90000 miles and still drives brilliantly.
These are cracking motors and make great second hand buys, they are extreemly cheap executive sports car especially if you consider the price of them when they were brand new. if you go for a 99 model and above the services are every 20000 miles as to being 10000 on the earlier model. Cambelts need changing at 80000 miles and look out that the clutch is ok as this can cost £600 plus to replace as it is an 8 hr job. When you are buying one make sure you give the electrics a good thorough check. Ive had problems with the electric mirrors self adjusting every time the car is started up and i have to adjust them everytime before i can set off, dont even bother asking peugeot dealerships to fix it as they havnt a clue and want paying for not having a clue as well, heated element in the drivers seat also burned out and peugoet want about £450 pound to fix that but dont let this put you off as these are great cars.
The looks are stunning and people think its alot more expensive than it really is, i still get alot of envy admirers even though they could afford it themselves. i would buy another one as they are excellant to drive and 0 to 60 takes just 7.8 seconds with a top speed not to far away from 150. If your light on the accelerator you can achive 40mpg but on the other hand if you are a bit heavy expect to get about 23mpg, in other words it means getting 300 miles out of a tank full of fuel or getting 500 and its nearly £60 to fill the tank.
The looks alone should make you want to buy this car as the curves are great and you dont see them on the road as much as other more expensive boring vehicles.
Dont even bother going for the 2ltr version as my nan can run faster but if cost of fuel is your concern then they now do a 2.2 diesal, there are no differance in looks thow the wheels on the 2.0l are 15" and the V6 are 16" with a slightly wider tyre.

Summary: good looks, great power for low money but look out for shot electrics

Hi there. Useful review but lacking a bit of info. There were also a few speeling mistakes. Sorry to sound picky but it will help you get higher ratings if your spelling is good. Try read a couple of other car reviews to get an idea of what is needed to get high ratings. Donna x
