I bought this car when it first came out back in 2002 after having owned the Peugeot 806 people carrier which was a good, reliable and spacious car. With a family of 5 ,reliable and spacious are the two key things I'm looking for in a car. Spacious this car was, reliable it was not. The car did the job as people carrier fine with room for all five of us and the family dog in the boot. Getting the weekly shop into the boot of the 807 is rarely a problem and more room can be made by putting all the back seats down. On long car journeys we tended to have 2 seats up in the middle and one seat up in the boot just so we don't have 3 young children sitting next to each other for more than an hours long journey. The problem with this was the seats that can be put up in the boot take a good 20 minutes of fiddling to put into place and the back seats are not very comfortable at all so we would have to keep stopping so the kids could swap over. As far as reliability goes. Forget about it, we had this car for 7 years. Yeah I know what your thinking, that's a good length of time to have a car. But I have also spent hundreds on repairs. I have lost count of the amount of times this car has broken down is 7 years but it must be well into the 20's. I thought maybe this could be isolated to just our car but after browsing the web to find we are not the only ones with this problem and then to find the car was rated worst 2 years running in BBC show top gear voted by customers. It seems the car is perfect for anyone's large family needs except you will find yourself waiting on the side of the road an awful lot. My recommendation, get an espace.
