It also has a very unique look, similar I suppose to the Citroen 2CV, very ... more  ... high off the ground and bubbly at the same time. I actually had a prang once with the car with the other car coming off much worse, giving my car the nickname of 'the tank'.
The car also gave me some 'cred' after it turned up in a repeat of 'Jewel of the Nile' one night on television. Its the car that went over the waterfall with Danny DeVito!
My Renault 4 eventually bit the dust - the rear axle collapsed - but I enjoyed every minute of its driving life all the same!...moreMore Renault card

I had a Renault 4 for many years and enjoyed the ride every time I set myself behind the wheel. It has an air of 'Frenchie'ness about it - almost Allo Allo in quality. In fact the French used this very model for some of their police cars. I always enjoyed taking others for rides in it as they were always intrigued by the cars many individual and unique nuances. For example, the gearstick is located in the dashboard and its 4 speed gearbox always clunked nicely into place. Another unique part of the car was its windows. When I took my driving test in this very car, the driving test man spent the entire test fiddling with the windows and ignored ...
