My first car was a green 1999 T Reg Renault Clio RN Grande 3 door, it was a great little car, but then 3 weeks later it was written off after being in quite a bad crash, luckily even though i was hit in the drivers side i wasn't hurt at all not even a bruise, so it's definatley well built.

It was because of its apprent durability i choose to buy another Clio after my first being written off, the one i have now is exactly the same as the one i had previously, but blue and with only 40,000 on the clock.

I mainly use this car for nipping around town, to and from work and college ocassionally i use it for longer trips and it has never let me down.

Being a young male student driver the fact that it is cheap in all aspects is important. Used Clios with low mileage can be picked up pretty cheap, i got this one in Febuary 06 for £1800 with a pretty low mileage (40,000) its group 2 insurance which is again great for those of us who are strapped for cash.

Petrol Costs
It costs me around £30 to fill the tank from empty to full, and from a full tank i get around 250 - 270 miles (although i could probably be driving a lot more economically keeping the revs low etc)

Its a bit slow
Its only got a little engine so don't expect to win any races in it, although if you get the revs up to 3,000 - 4,000 thats where all the power is, although its not much.

Overall I love my Clio, im pretty dissapointed with the new ugly clio renault have designed now so i don't think ill be getting another one when i change cars in a few years, but for now, my little clio does me fine.
