No desire in this clio, get a looked after one (Renault Clio 1.2 3-door)

Advantages: comfortable to get you from a to b

Disadvantages: if the car has not been looked after then you will be forking out

I had this car in 2006, the model ihad was a 1.2 3 door automatic, i found that the car was easy to drive. After i had the car for about six months i noticed that the auto selecter was lacking, so whenever i put it into drive there would be a delay longer than normal.

I took it to the renault garage who claimed that it would cost £1200 to fix, a local garage quoted me £800 i declined both options as i had just paid £2000 for the car, the tax was due and also the mot. I got fed up and sold the car.

The car was slow and lagged behind, i have driven nippier cars like an 02 punto, vauxhall corsa. The automatic clio is not the only clio i have owned, i also owned a 1.2 R reg 3 dr clio, this car was more responsive.

The body work was durable and the engine did not give me any problems, the car had central locking to which i upgraded by putting in an alarm system which gave me remote central locking.

the seats were confortable for short periods. There were safety bags in the car.

if you do decide to buy one of these cars please make sure you get one that has been looked after, services notes and treatments for the engine makes a difference to the drive. This is one thing that i do for the engine and drivability.

maybe this car would suit someone who is a first time driver.
