Advantages: Good, economical and cheap to run

I have owned my Renault Clio since June of last year and have enjoyed every minute of it. The main reason I bought this car was to save money, being able to get around 540 miles to a full tank compared to the 220 with my previous car. Also, because of the small engine, the road tax is only £35.00 a year! Bargain! I have used this car to travel all over, on one weekend doing 12 hours of constant driving. This plucky little car just ate up the mile without a single hint of a complaint, and I was extremely comfortable and relaxed driving it for this entire time.

However, I did have some trouble when my gearbox bairings collapsed and had to have the whole gearbox rebuilt - apparantly this is a problem with the clio after around 62,000 miles use - so keep an eye on that mileometer! Also, my bonnet release cable has stretched, so now that also has to be replaced. However, generally speaking, I am pleased with this economical little car which is a good workhorse and is comfortable and enjoyable to drive - I won't be going back to a big car again!

Summary: All in all a good way to save on motoring costs.
