Advantages: £35 per year Tax, Affordable, Great handling

Disadvantages: Heater takes ages to warm up, leaky sunroof

Renault clio's, like many cars and humans have came in all shapes variety's and sizes down the years ha ha, but one thing is for sure they're are a great first car for anyone looking to get they're wheels on the road. I myself have the 1.5 dci 2003 model and its my first car which I'm very pleased with hence being a 7 y.o car.

One of the best points about the clio is that its as nippy as a cat up a try, very good handling making you feel more at ease when out on the sometimes treacherous roads!

I particularly like the layout of this bubble shaped model as everything is exactly where you need it from the buttons on your center panel to the levers on the seats for adjusting the best driving height and position that suits.

Exterior - personally i think they are quite cool looking cars majority would say a girly car id disagree compared to the likes of the VW beetle or Mini ha ha. I like the fact that there's a lot you can also do to clios on the outside and interior to suit your own needs the list is endless! I really like how quick the back demister works on the clio when its covered with condensation or ice from the days you wish you didn't have to drive.

Interior - colour wise from the dash point of view its not the most colourful car you've seen out there with the dull grayish effect going on throughout but at the same time the design features of it aren't that bad at all compared to sum other car brands from the same year or so. A lot of the clio's can have rather funky (ridiculously looking) designs on the seats, thankfully i got rather nice blue seats with the grayish bits for the sides of the bucket seats (yes that's right bucket seats!!) as standard you cant go wrong with that. Speaking of which are very comfortable! wouldn't want a sore bum driving about on the roads here lol.

CD/radio player - well to my amazement the sound quality is really good, loud and crisp. have the volume at 20 and you'd have your own club in a car and yes it goes louder! (nothing like listening to 'Journey - Don't stop believing' in the morning hoping that work will go in that we bit faster).

Tax - well it kind of speaks for itself £35 a year, cheap as chips and another good advantage of a diesel, few extra pennies for your money box.

Besides all that. you can actually get yourself one of these clios for a small fortune. depending on how good your bargaining skills are if you're looking privately ofcourse ha ha.

In terms of how much you'll be making those dreaded trips to the garage to fill up that beloved tank of yours i usually put in £40 at the start of every month depending on how much I'm driving of course sometimes less and that usually gets me around 500 miles or just over which sees me through nicely.

There are some bad points like the fact that the heater takes so long to warm up, always a nuisance in those cold winter mornings. you'd be as well wearing 4 layers of clothing for a while. Also a common problem with clio's as happens in mine and a few other people's i know, the sunroof always seems to take so much a of battering when raining heavily that it leaks after a while leaving in my case a circle water stain on my drivers seat. Verryyy annoying!!

Summary: Great first car, you don't know what your missing out on!!!
