Express Review on Renault Megane in general
by - written on 11/04/12
Rating:

New in December, the car handles well and is quite comfortable but not very good on economy at around 38 mpg. unleaded. The low fuel warning light comes on all too often it seems. Gears take some getting used to and it is all too easy to slip from 6th to 3rd when you were aiming for 5th gear. Surprisingly noisy engine above 60 mph and sou

My family car - A Renault Megane 1.5DCI :o) (348 words)
by - written on 11/10/11 (Very useful, 55 readings)
Rating:

I brought a Renault Megane 1.5DCI on a 2003 plate when I discovered I was pregnant with my first child. I wanted a new-ish car suitable for a family with style, but I also wanted the car to be practical, cheap to run, insure and tax. (Not asking for much hey?) I also didn't have a lot to spend, so the Megane seemed perfect for us as they ...  Read the complete review

Renault Megane in general: Great performer but a bit fiddly (272 words)
by - written on 20/07/11 (Useful, 132 readings)
Rating:

I own a 54 plate 1.4 Petrol Megane Hatch. The first thing to notice is the key design: funky and cool using a card rather than a traditional key, it garners interest. The key is inserted into a slot, and a single button starts the engine. Newer models have keyless ignition wherby the key merely needs to be in the vicinity of the ...  Read the complete review

Megane 1.4 Dynamique: Big promise, but does it match up? (215 words)
by - written on 18/11/10 (Useful, 809 readings)
Rating:

I recently purchased a used 04 plate Megane (the now old shape); mainly becasue of the vast array of features present compared to cars of a similar age and size. With the promises of air con, trip computer, heated screens, 'follow me home' headlights and other such features, this seemed like to good an opportunity to miss. ...  Read the complete review

Renault Megane in general: Renaultsport Megane 225 - Long name, should've added 'Go-Kar ... (532 words)
by - written on 19/08/10, updated on  19/08/10 (Very useful, 297 readings)
Rating:

The Renaultsport Megane 225 is the hottest version of the big-bottomed French hatchback! The 225 is so named due to the power output of its engine, a 2 litre 4-pot turbo producing around 225 BHP. Starting with looks, the Megane in all its forms is an acquired taste, with the 'shaking that ass' advertised rear end. My neighbour ...  Read the complete review

megane extreme (154 words)
by - written on 16/08/10 (Useful, 216 readings)
Rating:

I owned a megane for 3 years and loved it. It was the extreme model. It had connections to play your ipod or mp3 player through your radio, and was neatly hidden in the glove box. It was my first car and i found it easy to drive. It was spacious for a 3 door car, and wasnt to hard on fuel consumption. The seats were really comfortable ...  Read the complete review

Renault Megane in general: Excellent looking car, poor interior (678 words)
by - written on 29/06/10 (Very useful, 257 readings)

I currently have a brand-new Renault Megane Sport Tourer (the new mk3 2009-onwards model). I've been driving it a couple of months now and I honestly think this is the best-looking estate car on the market. The majority of estate cars look like they've been designed in someone's coffee break by a trainee and just appear to have an extra ...  Read the complete review

Driving me mad (459 words)
by - written on 18/06/10 (Very useful, 469 readings)
Rating:

So i've had my 1.4 Renault Megane Extreme since October 2007 which comes as quite a shock to me. I had believed that by this stage one of two things would have happened to it. Either it would have been driven into a river, or Renault would have taken ownership of it since they have had it for more time than I. The car itself ...  Read the complete review

Renault Megane in general: A nice car to look at but unreliable and costly (841 words)
by - written on 15/06/10 (Very useful, 803 readings)
Rating:

We bought a Renault Megane about 2 and a half years ago and have recently part exed it and upgraded to a Citroen C4. I feel I now have had enough experience with the Megane to be able to write a fair review about it. The car we opted for at the time was an 05 version of the Megane in black and it suited us perfectly as it was ...  Read the complete review

Good car, bit boring (158 words)
by - written on 31/12/09 (Useful, 476 readings)
Rating:

This car is a good, well made reliable car that is great if thats all you require from a car. The rear of the car however does stick out and is not to everyones taste as it does make it look frumpy and uncool. This is not a car that suits those who want a sporty exciting car but more for those who put reliability infront of looks and are ...  Read the complete review

Having always owned volkswagen cars i was really surprised that i liked the renault megane in the showroom. Renault Megane - great for small drivers! (223 words)
by - written on 07/10/09 (Useful, 289 readings)

I have just been reading the reviews of the Megane and noted that someone has explained they don't feel it is great for tall people. I am tiny (5 foot!) and share a Megane with my partner (6 foot tall!) and we both agree that it is perfect! Being so small, I struggle sometimes to find a car which I am really comfortable ...  Read the complete review

Renault Megane in general: Renault Megane 1.6 VVT Dynaminque (166 words)

As a relative car novice, i bought my Renault Megane on the look of the car alone. Of course i done a little bit of research before purchasing, but in reality i was just hoping I would find nothing major wrong to put me off. I went for a 2003 1.6 VVT Dynamique. Overall, I am pretty happy with my purchase. I guess you could say ...  Read the complete review

Megane Saloon Review (271 words)
by - written on 13/09/09 (Useful, 261 readings)
Rating:

I have a 54 saloon dynamique, bought 12 months from new. It is my second Megane and I am undecided whether it will be my last. I started buying Megane saloons simply for practicality. It has the largest size boot for a reasonably small size of car, without cutting into space within the back seats and as my wife is only 5' tall and ...  Read the complete review

at first this car was great, i bought it when it was just under a year old (its an '04 plate), and had no problems with it. i thought it was stylish (i like its derriere but i think its a marmite thing that you either hate it or love it). i also liked the card key and the 'aeroplane' like handbrake (i know it probably has a technical ...  Read the complete review

The Va Va VOOM has gone Va Va BOOM! (370 words)
by Caz30 - written on 24/06/09
Rating:

I would love to be able to agree with many other owners and say that the megane is a good all round family car, however for me it really has been the most problematic car i have ever owned. Maybe i have been unlucky with mine which seems to have ALL the "common" faults. The car itself is an 04 plate, 1.6 VVT ...  Read the complete review

I Bought my Renault Megane as a brand new car, it was a Renault Megane 1.6 Dynamique, which I also upgraded to the full leather interior. I don't have many complaints about the Megane at all, and when I first had it, lots of friends and family were amazed at some of the latest gadgets that it had in it, which were not around ...  Read the complete review

2003 megane 1.5DCi (170 words)
by - written on 14/05/09 (Somewhat useful, 603 readings)
Rating:

I had a 2003 Megane Dymanique 1.5DCi that I bought in 2006. It had 29,000 miles on the clock and I kept it until last week (changed to a peugeot 308). I couldn't fault the megane, except for a few small things, for the 3 years I had it. The only thing that went wrong was an electric window regulator in the passenger side window. As ...  Read the complete review

I bought my 2.0l megane dynamique (2004) in 2006 and still miss it now. There were plenty of good and bad things about the car but overall it gave me a very happy year of motoring. Firstly the looks.
