I've owned a 2.0 16v since 1998, having previously owned a clio 16v and R5GT Turbo. The only thing I've changed is the air filter(not the whole unit), which made the performance a bit sweeter. Overall I've had little problem with the car in the 70k miles its done, bar a new Engine Management Unit and a sticky back window, but then all renaults are plagued with electronics problems at some point. As a drivers car it's not bad - not ideal for tall people though - back (leg and head room) or front (head room). Handles well, with a bit of an oversteer, but if you keep hold of the wheel and keep the power going it's fairly forgiving! Fuel economy is 30+mpg average (i got 47mpg [according to the trip computer!] on a 300mph motorway journey at 75mph. Interior ergonomics are good - everything in the right place - good stereo, seats are comfortable in the front but cramped in the back. Servicing is good with the right garage - no more than the standard car - just make sure you change the sparks, oil and filter regularly. Overall, I would recommend this to someone who enjoys a car for fun and for general driving, doesn't want to pay the earth in maintenance + insurance, isn't too tall and doesn't have a family
