I am driving a Scenic 1.9dTi for 18 months and 16000 miles and get more disappointed by the day. The car is full of great ideas and very versatile. It's comfortable to drive and all passengers enjoyed the ride, especially when you remove the middle seat in the back. The engine is powerful, economical and not too noisy. All in all it seemed to be the best buy at the time.
Unfortunately the reliability is very poor and Renault service the worst I have ever encountered. Various parts show premature aging and prove a poor quality. The ventilation broke down weeks after the warranty finished. It took the Renault service 6 weeks and me several visits to get hold of the part. Further more I am still waiting for the promised reimbursement (for more than 3 months now). The latest disaster is a leak in the passenger foot area (maybe related to a bad repair of the vent), so I am trying my luck with a different dealer now. This is not particular great fun as Renault got rid of all independent dealers in Greater London and you have to go to the few Renault owned outlets.
I had a Citroen ZX before, which was at least for the first 3 years quite reliable. But this car is the biggest disappointment and my first and last Renault ever.
