Advantages: Cheap to insure
Disadvantages: Reliability, Driving Comfort
I have had a brand new twingo GT 1.2 ICE for 6 months now and i thought it about time to write a review.
The car its self is a cool looking sporty mini me of the clio. The fronts nice to look at and rather sporty but unfortunatly thats where the S word ends....
The seats inside are comfy and roomy but dont have any special "GT" feel to them, the stering wheel is leather and so is the gear knob which is a nice little touch on this sort of car and theres plenty of space in the back too thanks to the fully movable chairs (that can be put flat to make a mini van like 2 seater...Right more about the interior:- Renault being Renualt must have gone right out there way to make the interior...I mean look there must be at least 5 different types of plastic! which gives it a cheap tinny feel. The driving position is good, and the car drives nice but with it being a 1.2 turbo it feels breathless around 4000rpm and does not really have any power to back it up. Also with it being a turbo it drinks fuel like no other 1.2 ive ever known.
Problems ive had:-
Alloy wheels peeling (yep on a BRAND NEW CAR WITHOUT IT BEING CURBED!)
Major elecrical fault on the ECU. This led to me being stranded in the middle of a 4 lane round about.
Leaking Glass Roof.
Fuel Injector blockage
Airbag warning light intermitently coming on.
So i guess ive had a bad experiance :-(
All i can really say about this car is its a cheap little turbo but expect problems.
Its fun to drive but not so fun to be in for any long period of time (a 400mile drive nearly killed me)
on the upside, it looks nice from the outside, cheap to insure and cheap to buy!
Ive bought a brand new C4 now so i shall tell you how that is coming along soon!
Summary: Get the clio!
