I have had a 2 litre Rover Sdi for about a year and covered about 25000 miles in that time, up and down the M4. My first impression was how heavy it is. My left calf has grown in size since I have had the car! And the heavy engine really weighs down the front of the car, giving some strange handling characteristics. At first, going around tight corners feels like you are fighting to stop the car from heading in a straight line. The performance is excellent - at least as fast as a large sized petrol engine, though it has the typical broader diesel rev range. I wanted a car that was fast but frugal and I think I found it.
