A decent car and available at bargain prices (Rover 25 in general)

My third and favourite car. I owned this car second hand and drove it from 40000 to 85000 miles. I would describe the size of this car as between a Ford Fiesta and a Ford Focus. The version I owned was a 1.4Si which is the model I would recommend as its the only one I have drive. With regard to ease of drive I have only two complaints. I felt the clutch was too high and too springy, sometimes making it difficult to maintain the biting point. I also felt that the car (typical of rovers) sometimes struggled to get in reverse gear some times forcing me to pull it into gear with brute force.
These were the only issues with the car. I felt it was a nice size inside, quiet enough engine and comfortably driving position. I have driven this car on 400 miles journeys on 10 or more occassions without stopping and havent experienced any aches or pains. Rover also seem to have ridden themselves of the head gasket issues that plagued the two hundred series usually around the 60000 mile mark as I drove this car through that distance with no engine issues. The only major work it ever needed for me was the usual services (brakes, oil) and a clutch replacement. I liked the appearance of the car from the outside and was glad to see it sporting a sun roof. I especially liked the new lights in comparison to the 200 range. On the inside I felt the plastic trimming was a little plasticky but nothing too major.
Overall this car served me incredibly well on both long distance driving and the dreaded commuter traffic I traversed daily. I would recommend it too anyone.
