Advantages: Interior

Disadvantages: Lack of power, poor build

A friend of mine bought an MGF 14 months ago and it turned out to be a real banana. Out of that time it has spent 4 months in the garage for various different problems.
The engine was noisy, I know with it being mid mounted you expect some noise, but this was appaling. After having the car for a month it was returned to the dealer for 3 weeks only to find that it was no different. The hood was far from adequate and unless it was garaged, it would every time it rained, soak the seats through. The idea of having that flappy thing to put on the hood when it was down, the cover, did not fit. Again more time spent in the garage and most of it was when the weather was nice enough to have the roof down. But no, the dealer only had a metro or rover 100 as a courtesy car!!

Overlooking the faults, which may be a one off, the car is pleasant to drive but does lack some of that special something. Performance is certainly something that lacks, the size and weight, you would think wuold help the power/weight ratio of the nippy engine, but sadly does not.
The interior is nice and gives you the sports car feel but can't deliver the goods.

For the same money there are a lot of other cars that offer better enjoyment of driving. Don't waste your money.
