 ... rear wheel drive, and so as soon as there is any rain (don't even think about driving it in the ice or snow!!) on the roads the back end is really hard to control, any pressure on the accelerator whilst going around a bend, or a roundabout, and the back end of the car flies out of control. I owned an N Reg (1996) 1.8i MGF, and unfortunately I was not very pleased with it at all. I only kept the car for 18 months, and although it was great in the summer on the very few and far between sunny days, it was a nightmare for the rest of the year. The handling of the car is awful, resulting in me having 2 accidents in it during those 18 months, against only 3 accidents (2 of which were the MGF ones) in my 14 years of driving. My MGF is my baby. I love it and it is my pride and joy. I was delighted when I got this car last year in May. I brought it form the actual show room and thought I got myself a bargain. It is an s-reg and had only 9000 miles on the clock when I got it for £11500. Ok the dealer was overly stingy as I was not supplied with mats, any extras or even a tax disc but I was so overjoyed I didn?t care. I haven?t had many problems at all with it. I have to say that when I went to get it?s first MOT I was horrified to find that the dealer wanted to charge me £445 for 4 new tyres.
