Excellent big family car (Seat Alhambra in general)

Advantages: Roomy comfort for the larger family, Power points in the back for gameboys etc

Disadvantages: Invisible nose makes parking awkward

We've now had the Alhambra for just over 2 years and are still very happy with it.

The 1.9TDi engine, though noisy when cold, turns in a very economical performance and there's enough pulling power to satisfy most people.

We've had the alternator v-belt go a couple of times now. It's expensive (£60 + labour) and it's a dealer job to replace.

At speed over long distances, this car just soaks up the miles in comfort. We took the middle seat out for our last holiday journey which gives a lot of interior floorspace for legroom and carry-on baggage.

Forget in-car fitted tv systems - we slotted a small 10" Roadstar TV/Video combi unit between the 2 front seats, sitting on the armrests, and gave the kids videos to watch all the way to France and back.

All in all, a great car and one that we'll be buying again in a year or two.

I'd really like to see the in-car navigation option being added to the UK model - at the moment it's only on the European version - but you cant have everything.....
