Even in the very worst driving conditions (short distance, cold winter when the engine never warms up) I still get 50 m.p.g. minimum.

What a fabulous little car! Stylish too, it's big where it counts most, and dead economical to run. I'm talking about 75 m.p.g if you tootle along at about 60 m.p.h. on A roads. That's better than any other car I know of - even with current makes/models. SEAT must have been mad to cease production. It's got a straightforward VW Direct Injection diesel engine, but will eat up the motorway miles in sedate fashion at speeds well in excess of 70.
