When seat withdrew from the world rally championship it could have simply handed everyone in the team a P45 and thanks for a job well done. Instead it chose to retain the team to produce image-building hot road cars. By squeezing the VW groups 180bhp 1.8 litre turbo motor into the Ibiza’s engine bay, they’ve come up with the most powerful, practical, supermini-based hatch yet, the Ibiza Cupra R. the standard suspension has been stiffened and lowered, the brakes up rated, and there’s a serious looking set of 17-inch wheels. The Seat Ibiza is probably the best Seat car made, this small and sporty car boasts a 2.0 litre 8 valve 150 break horse vw designed engine. Its excellent road handeling is due to its 195/55r15 wheels and tyres and front and rear anti roll bars which are standard on all gti models. The front and rears disc brakes make this vehicle able to stop an a sixpence. It's very sporty looks are helped by the alloy wheels, side skirts, front and rear spoiler, colour coded wing mirrors and optional bonnet vent. The interior is very well designed and spacious and boasts features such as a leather gear knob, lcd mileage display and optional half ... Read the complete review

The 2.0 8 valve engine is one of VW groups finest - bags of torque, economical and built to last. In the small(ish) Ibiza body it provides sufficient performance for easy overtaking whilst still returning 35mpg on average (over 40mpg on a long run). The car arrived with 2 minor faults (handbrake light not working, leaks around both door mirrors), both corrected at the first attempt by the ever attentive dealer. The car has been flawless in the 24000 miles covered since then. I have found servicing costs to be around half that of my previous car (3 services totalling around 230 pounds so far). Handling is competent rather than stunning, and road noise coming from the ... Read the complete review
