Advantages: Its a cheap polo in wolfs clothing
Disadvantages: People will always take the piss.
Punchline: a skip The Skoda fabia range is the small car range from the czechoslovakian giant that is VW you heard me right. About a year ago skoda was taken over by the german giant VW and has ever since then been living up to the integrated branding that is the VW group. The Fabia range is fairly limited in scope their are four cars the elegance up to the air conditioned 1.4 16v. The engines are the only main diffence in that there is a 68bhp engine and a 100bhp engine. Don't let these fool you they are just rebadged polo engines. In fact the Skoda fabia is the cheaper version of the polo. Just like much of skodas new line up are. The Fabia is based upon the floor pan of the 5dr polo. So don't let dizzying heights of driving experience worry you. But hey its a skoda there is only so much you can expect. The cars interior is of a lower spec then its sibling but the build quality is on a par. If you are looking for a polo but don't want to pay for the badge this is if you will the high street equivalent. At 6-10k you really can't lose now can you.

- 25/07/01 Skoda has a far better reputation for quality than certain EEC manufacturers (certain French companies). I own a Golf and would in no way take the piss out of Skoda --- even older models. Whatever certain individuals do with urine, be certain, you`ll stay dry in your Skoda! |
