The general shape of the body is flat with no curves at all, the interior boasts square air vent, square buttons for the lights, square glove box, square dashboard, square indicators, the list goes on. Skoda has long been a name found in the punch line of jokes and generally as a source of humour, that, however is a thing of the past. Along with many other aspects associated with Eastern Europe, Skoda cars have managed to combine the practicalities of eastern manufacturing with the flair of western design to produce a very good product. Admittedly they are never going to compete in the boy racer market or have the flash image that appeal to the sales executive, but for a practical and reliable run around they are a real contender. The skoda favourit WHAT A CAR. Its fast, nippy, luxerious and cheap. It has good acceleration, of about 30 seconds 0-60. It has a top speed of 40 mph, which is great for those straights. This amazing facts are all because of its great motor. The motor is pure magic, it humms like a bee and is very very very reliable and has only once broken down on me when the band snapped. The Skoda Favorit changed quite a bit during it's long production run, but my review is about my 1992 Favorit Forum Plus. I think that this is probably one of the best budget cars that you can buy; there are very few disadvantages to owning one. Firstly, it is a thoroughly modern car, and not to be confused with older Skoda models, it has a front mounted, all aluminium 1.3 litre engine and a conventional 5 door layout. The bodywork was designed by Italian designer Bertone, and I think that the car still looks very good today, looking quite like a Citroen ZX but with more straightforward, straight lines.
