I think we got the last laugh with this car, having purchased the car about 18 months ago in showroom condition, it is now still not far off it. Because of Volkswagens influence in Skoda, this car has shown improved build quality over its ancestors. Since purchasing the car, a new clutch has been fitted (faulty original) and eight new tyres. This car seems to go through treads like there going out of fashion! However, the dealers are very friendly, normally recognise the cutomers and servicing is cheap. Currently I think we are getting about 60-70 miles to the gallon( or none when you accidentally fill it with petrol-whoops!) No rusty bodywork or damage to suspension etc. Being an old-style diesel it doesnt have quite the best performance in the world, and gear changes are frequent due to its diesel engine speed range. However, overall an improvement on the Favorit Estate we had before.
