Advantages: Great roadholding-and fun to drive.

Disadvantages: a little heavier on petrol consumption

I am currently driving the Sport version of the 2 litre Subaru Impreza. I am finding its road holding ability quite remarkable. You do feel the difference in grip after driving two wheel drive cars. I think too that what has surprised me is the quietness of the car when the windows are closed. It has good suspension and evens out many a bump. There is a little whistling sound noticeable when you drive with the driver's window open-but this is definitely liveable with. I find it responsive to the accelerator- and in fact it does feel that the engine is waiting for you to rev it up. The clutch I have found to have a very long travel, and it is quite heavy. The gear box is chunky, I am not yet an expert in selecting reverse. The interior is rather plain, but this means that there are fewer distractions. The steering I find really responsive, and overall I find that it is a thoroughly enjoyable car to drive. The boot has plenty of room for the golf clubs and trolley, though there is a spacesaver tyre underneath there. There is not a lot of room in the back for passengers who come along for the ride, but the front seats feel as though they have reasonable support for the back.
The lighting display is subdued and not distracting at night, in fact it is easy to read.
