Not really a 'cool' badge, but the Suzuki Baleno earns a good review. With a 1.6l engine (the new Baleno offers a 1.8l engine) it gives an adequate fuel consumption around town. Mine is automatic, which is not as economical as the geared version, but as an estate gives plenty of room for the family, and generous luggage space.
Don't try and beat another vehicle from the lights because you're likely to be disappointed, but you'll be please with the reliability it returns.
The price is remarkably low ! I paid around £7000 for a model just two years old. The dealership looks after their customers; I had to get the central locking repaired (nothing serious, just that the boot wasn't locking with the central locking), and was very surprised that it was STILL covered by warrenty.
