Advantages: Smart car; comfortable; economical; spacious interior
Disadvantages: Totally Unreliable and Poor After Sales from Suzuki
I bought an 02 model from brand new; mainly for its stylish good looks, economy and comfort.
For the first six months it was trouble free and handled long journeys effortlessly. However, I felt the accelerator pedal becoming loose and one day it literally fell off! The car went back to the dealer, who promptly welded it back on, but a few weeks later, it fell off again. Back to the dealer again, where they replaced the entire pedal mechanism. Great, I thought, no more problems, and I continued to use the car, trouble free, for a couple of months. I could hardly believe it when yet again, the accelerator pedal fell off! Back to the dealer yet again, and yet again they fixed it, only for it to fall off once more. By this time I had had quite enough of this car. I had it fixed one final time and traded it in for a different make of car. Pity, because the car was otherwise a great, comfortable ride, no matter how long you sat at the wheel; it was very economical and the interior had as much space as a far bigger car. Boot capacity was good, too. I believe it spent more time in the garage having the accelrator pedal fixed than it did in my possession, so no, I wouldn't ever buy another Suzuki.
I took my complaint to the Suzuki head office, but they just didn't want to know. No offer of a new replacement car, not even an apology or an admission that I had indeed bought a lemon. Totally unsatisfactory!
Summary: Unreliable car and unhelpful manufacturers.
