Advantages: versatile
Disadvantages: looks strange
When my car goes in for it's sevice the courtesy car is a wagon R, the first time I was told I would be swapping my much loved Grand Vitara for one of these I wasn't looking forward to it. I must say that having now 'borrowed ' a wagon R twice I have completly changed my opinion of these practical little cars, there are so many advantages and good design features its hard to know where to start. The seating is high like a small 4X4 so you get a good view of the road, the all round visibility is superb, the layout of the dash is logical and functional, there are nice and unexpected touches with power windows and mirrors and a good face off stereo system, the seats are broad and reasonably supportive but they are designed to fold in different ways so the inside can make a sort of settee, great fun if you go to the beach or for a picnick, if the kids get tired on the way home their individual split fold rear seat can be reclined and they can rest in comfort while you drive home in equal comfort. they have loads of little storage bins , trays under the seats, and the passenger seat squab lifts to reveal a space big enough to put two bags of shopping in. Cheap to run, if you can bring yourself to look beyond the outside and take a test drive I guarantee that you will be impressed. Smiley family transport that can be whatever you want it to be (except a sports car)
