I found that even going through a roundabout, it heaved from one side to the other, getting around the corner like an overladed wheelbarrow. The brakes then were too weak for such a big car. With a load in the car the brakes fade quickly, and take quite a big push to get them to stop the car quickly. The interior of the car I did like though. Recently I drove a new Avensis. What a disappointment! I think they are a good looking car, but once behind the wheel, there is nothing but disappointment after that. I drove the 1.8 petrol version. I found it a tad underpowered. The steering was very spongey and non-informing. Turning in to bends, it was hard to know where the car would go to. There is virtually no feedback through the wheel.
