Advantages: It's small and nippy
Disadvantages: Poorly and cheaply made car means problems occur at the 20000 miles mark
Ok, so I bought this car about 2 years ago.
At first I thought that it was great, I mean £35 on road tax a year and very cheap to run on petrol but I soon discovered, once I hit the 20000 mark that all was not as it seemed.
Firstly my clutch went and had to be replaced then about 2 months later my exhaust went. I since discovered, after much research on the internet, that this appears to be a problem with these cars as they are cheaply made so are not expected for those who may be doing around 10000 miles a year, which is the average might I add.
I must also add that within the two years I had the car, I had to replace the front tyres twice and one of the back tyres.
Anyone who is buying this car, thinking they are getting a good Toyota car, as I did, think again as you may have a citreon or a peugeot engine under the bonnet, as I did. The reason for this is that they are made in the same factor as the Peugeot 107 and the citreon c1 and they are essentially the same car except for the exterior.
I would also like to add that the car feels very toylike, in the sense that it doesn't feel like it would stand any bad crashes. I was unfortunate enough to to have a minor crash where I was driving at around 5 mph in slow moving traffic and my whole back bumper had to be replaced. It is also very easily dented by car doors etc so the paintwork gets very scratched and dented easily.
All in all, I would advise anyone to be aware when the car gets to the 20000 mark. I was luck enough that my car was still under warranty however if you happen to be outside the warranty at this stage, you could fine yourself with a hefty bill.
Summary: An ok car for a first time driver but not good if doing more than 10000 miles per year
