Advantages: Comfy, Reliable, Sounds Nice, Looks Gorgeous

Disadvantages: Parts can be expensive

I have a Toyota Celica - inherited it from my fiance when he got a company car. I adore this car so much. I have a 2000 model,with a premium and sport pack, it's blue in colour. OK so where do I really start with this car;

It has a 1.8 engine which isn't that great for the kind of car it is, be better with at least a 2.0 or 2.2 but you can't have everything, it is smooth to drive, comfy with leather interior and bucket seats that you can just mould in to. The back seats are a bit deceiving really as they look tiny and you think no one will be able to get in and be comfortable but you'd be wrong, my friend (who is 6ft 2") decided she would sit in the back and loved it said she was so comfy she could fall asleep. It is only a 3 door but the front seats do fold forward quite a bit so quite easy to get in and out of the back. Not suited for older people though they curse having to get out of the car at all even the front seat as they say it's too low down, but they're just getting too old for fun :)

The boot looks a good size even without the seats down and you can definately fit plenty in it. With the seats down I managed to fit a 42" t.v in it which was still in the box. So even though it's a sporty looking car it can still be a sensible car if you want it to be.

This model comes with a small spoiler on the back which I think looks great and makes the car look that bit sportier than the standard Celica. It has nice alloys but I chose to change mine and have also changed the exhaust to give it a nicer sound when you drive off. I also have climate control in the car which is a great bonus.

I would like to say I haven't had problems with this car but unfortunately I have just had to chnge the power steering pipe, brake calliper, handbrake cables and 2 wheel bearings. But to be honest I don't mind as it's not had problems before and probably won't have any more for another wee while. The parts are expensive and most you can only buy from Toyota themselves but check on the internet and you can usually find a good deal.

I don't really know what else I can say about this car, it really does look stunning and even though it's not the fastest car out there it is definately my favourite kind of car at the moment (well in my price range!!) Would recommend to anyone as this car is very reliable, comfy - even on long journeys, I drove it from Inverness to Bournemouth which is about 640miles and never once had to stop to stretch my legs!! The fuel isn't that brilliant it costs about £48 to fill the tank at the moment which will last me the week to and from work which suits me, about 33mpg.

It's definately a feel good car, you could never be angry or upset in one of these, i'm forever smiling when i'm driving it

Summary: My favourite car at the moment - I feel great when i'm driving it

mileage is 110,000 so it's done very very well :)

I hope you're right about not having to spend more money on it for a while. My experience is the contrary though: once parts start to wear out, they generally all start wearing out. The difference between good and bad cars is the age at which this process starts. Eight years old is good though (you don't mention the mileage). Well, it is a Toyota.

Hubby had one of these as a company car for a short while. It was OK for short journeys but long ones were hell on my back, Susan
