In the words of the great Will Smith, `Man.. I gotta get me one of these!`. I`ve always wanted an MR2, even from the days of the old Mk1 but never thought I would get one. Then, as luck would have it, my old Rover gave up the ghost and my Girlfriend persuaded me to splash the cash and get the car of my dreams (with the added benefit that kids would have to go on hold for a few more years! <lol>). To ensure I would make an unbiased decision (and to ease that nagging doubt you always get when buying something expensive), I forced myself into test driving the MGF Trophy, the Mazda MX5, the MR2 Mk3 and the BMW Z3 (in that order) First the MGF. ... Ok first off I bought this remarkable piece of equipment because I have the need... the need for speed. And handling, and comfort, and beauty. Not to mention how comfortable it is -- the armrests are actually useful! Imagine that, ergonomics, performance, and looks. What else do you need? Theres something about the cloth bucket seats in my model too... they keep my butt planted firmly in the center of the seat and they're soooo comfortable (and very, very adjustable). I can't honestly say I hate anything about it except maybe the cost of labor if there's ever a serious case of something breaking down. My clutch went out at about 96,000 miles which ... The first question you should ask yourself when considering the New MR2 roadster is how much do I need to transport? If the answer is anything more than "a few bags of shopping" or "enough for a weekend away for one", then look in the listings under anything except "MR2". However if you can manage on such meagre rations the MR2 might be for you. With that out of the way it’s all good news from here on! The long awaited replacement for the MR2 hit our shores in April and if you look hard enough you might just see one on the roads; owners can be easily identified by a large smile! Performance is ... Many consider the new MR2 to be a cheap option alongside the Jaguar XK8, or the latest Porsche. Well it is in a way, yet the manufacturers should take this as a complement. £18,000 buys you a UK registered model at the moment, with imports driving the prices ever downwards. And this is money well spent in my opinion. Options, options, options. So what else can you choose to go with the basics? Leather is around £500, or the semi auto gearbox with leather as standard will set you back around £2,500. The hard top roof is a factory fitted option only and clocks in at around £2,000. A few other options are available, the other specifically of note is the 10 ... Read the complete review

I am not a car fanatic. I don't drool over body curves and engnies. I want a reliable car, that's safe and for the right price offers something a little different. In chosing a car to buy, having no need for large space I decided to go for a sports car. I was looking to spend up to £20,000 althought I was hoping not to have to stretch to this. In the end it came down to a choice of three. The Mazda MX5, the MG and the Toyota MR2. The MR2 is the least practicle, there is no boot (that houses the engine) there is virtually no storage space (two little sections behind the driver and passengers seat allowing for two rucksacks at best) and ...
