Best of the 3 door Yaris range (Toyota Yaris 1.3 VVT-i SR 3dr)
Member Name: Cyberprophet
Advantages: Cheap, trustworthy, reliable motoring Disadvantages: Seems a little plasticy on some interior parts A little diamond. Assuming you can manage with the 3 door option, this is the best of the Yaris range. The VVTi engine is like a little sewing machine, transmission and gear selection have the precision and smoothness of a rifle bolt. Loads of storage in the cabin which offers a good level of comfort, despite the sports ride. A superb feature, which is undersold is the moveable rear seat; this sits on an adjustable carriage like the front seats and allows you to choose a balance between rear leg room/boot space. Pulled right forward, kids in the back are reachable by the front seat passenger and the boot becomes huge for the pushchair. Driven sensibly it will return over 45mpg but its tough not to be leaden footed. Reliability is typical Toyota, although servicing and maintenance (brakes, clutch etc) can be a little pricey. Early examples are available from £2,000 but I would suggest one registered after March 2001 to take advantage of the cheaper taxation Summary: Excellent value, looks great and wont let you down
